Privacy, in plain English
Last updated August 3, 2026. No legalese padding — this page says what we actually do. If anything here ever contradicts how the site behaves, tell us and we'll fix whichever one is wrong.
What we collect
- Deadline alerts (/alerts): your email, state, focus areas, and optional organization type.
- Weekly digest: your email, optional organization type and category interests.
- SBIR data updates (/sbir): your email, nothing else. This list only gets an email when the dataset itself changes — quarterly-ish, never weekly.
- Fit checks, match reports, and drafts (service closed August 2026): your organization's name, EIN, mission and program description, the grant you pointed us at (URL or PDF), and your contact email.
- Payments: handled entirely by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout pages. Card numbers never touch our servers and we never see them. Stripe tells us the order was paid and the email you used at checkout.
- Site analytics: standard server logs, our own first-party page-view log (page path, referrer, browser user-agent — no account, no profile), Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies, and Microsoft Clarity session replay — anonymized, with the text you type masked so we never see it.
What we do with it
Deliver the service you asked for. That's the whole list. Specifically:
- Never sold. Not to anyone, not ever.
- Never shared with third parties — except the processors that make the service physically run: Stripe (payments), Resend and Google Workspace (sending and answering email), DigitalOcean (hosting), Google Analytics (site traffic), Microsoft Clarity (anonymized session replay; text is masked), and Anthropic (the AI assistance described below). Each sees only what it needs to do its job.
- No advertising use. We don't run ads, retarget you, or feed your data to ad networks.
- No training AI models on your data. Your intake and documents are used to produce your deliverable, not to train anything.
Your drafts and fit-check content
The Draft service closed in August 2026, but these promises outlive it: anything you told us about your organization and program was used only to produce your deliverable — the fit check, match report, or draft you ordered. Deliverables were prepared with AI assistance (Anthropic's Claude) and reviewed by a human before anything was sent to you. Your information is never reused for other customers, marketing, or model training.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while we're providing you the service — your alert profile while your alerts are active, your order details while we might still owe you something (delivery, the refund window, a reply). Want it gone? Email anthony@grantsdue.com and we'll delete your data. That's the process; there's no form.
Every email we send — alerts, digest, order emails — carries a one-click unsubscribe that works immediately. Unsubscribing from one of our emails stops that stream; we don't quietly re-add you.
Where the grant data comes from
Everything we show about grants themselves is public government data: opportunity listings from grants.gov's daily extract, award-history figures from USAspending.gov and NIH RePORTER, and SBIR/STTR statistics from sbir.gov's public award records and the SBA's annual reports. None of it involves your personal data. The downloadable SBIR dataset on /sbir is aggregates of those same public records — award and company information only, no personal or contact data.
