About this opportunity
The recipient shall recruit and hire at least two early career Archeological Technicians and one Off-Highway Vehicle Restoration Coordinator to support project work. The NPS, in a collaborative effort, will help in the hiring process to assist in determining the best candidates. The hired associates will perform the following duties: Archeological Technicians will survey off-highway vehicle restoration areas for archeological and historic resources to ensure that these resources are not impacted by project actions. The Off-Highway Vehicle Restoration Coordinator will locate and prioritize areas for restoration projects and develop project plans to restore the disturbance in these areas. The Off-Highway Vehicle Restoration Coordinator, in a collaborative effort with NPS, will implement restoration actions at these prioritized areas. Actions include revegetation using local native plant materials, vertical and horizontal mulch, the installation of protective fencing and other barriers, and the de-compaction of tracks. The Off-Highway Vehicle Restoration Coordinator will also assist in recruiting and coordinating volunteers to assist in completing project actions. The Off-Highway Vehicle Restoration Coordinator will also conduct treatment effectiveness monitoring of the above mentioned treatments once implemented. The NPS will provide vehicles, tools, equipment, computers, and office space for the hired associates to use in completing project work. The NPS will also provide technical expertise and training for the hired associates as well as evaluation of completed projects and performance.
