About this opportunity

In celebration of the National Park Service (NPS) Centennial, the tenth in a series of annual BioBlitzes, co-hosted by NPS and the National Geographic Society (NGS), will be centered in national park sites in and around Washington, D. C. BioBlitz is a two day event focusing around a 24 hour inventory period in which teams of scientists, teachers, children, and other community members work together to identify as many species as possible. The event also includes a Biodiversity Festival featuring hands-on activities, speakers, and exhibits. The 2016 BioBlitz and Biodiversity Festival will take place on Friday May 20 and Saturday May 21. Simultaneously, BioBlitzes will occur at national park sites across the country.
